A comprehensive, AI-ready source of truth. Atlas finds missing coverage and supports clear, structured pages that address products, services, policies, questions and comparisons.
AtlasHow Visigent helps political campaigns be understood by AI.
A closer look at the content work and measurement behind our political GEO services, following Reuters' October 26 report.
A campaign may spend months developing a proposal and years building a record. An AI assistant may condense both into a few sentences. What those sentences contain depends partly on which sources the system finds and how it interprets them.
At Visigent, we help campaigns make their documented positions easier to find and understand, and track how AI systems represent them.
Reuters' October 26 report examined how political campaigns are trying to shape their visibility in AI-generated answers. Its reporting included a Visigent proposal involving campaign content, chatbot monitoring and paid placements. Here, we explain how our services work, what we measure and the limits of what publishing and distributing information can achieve.
"If you don't put the right information out there, who knows what the AI engines are going to grab onto."

Start with the answer a voter receives
The work begins with the answer a voter might receive. Questions about a candidate's background, policies or public record show how an assistant represents that candidate in a particular response. Comparing the answer and its citations with supporting records can reveal missing details, outdated information or claims that need closer examination.
Those findings guide the work of Atlas, our content system. Atlas helps organize a campaign's documented positions and supporting records into a structured reference, and identify questions its website leaves unanswered.
Consider a campaign with a detailed housing proposal. Its website might contain a short statement about affordability, while the substance sits in a policy document, a speech and an interview. Atlas supports bringing that material into clear pages that explain the proposal and connect claims to their sources. A reader should be able to distinguish a future commitment from a past accomplishment.
What a website update can and can't do
Search-enabled AI assistants can retrieve current web content while answering a question. They may use that material alongside information learned during model training. Updating a campaign's website creates a source an assistant may discover and use. It does not itself retrain the underlying model. How web search supports AI answers.
The technical foundation matters, too. Important information should be available as readable text, discoverable through links and accessible to relevant search crawlers. Google's guidance says established SEO fundamentals apply to its AI search features, without requiring special AI markup. Meeting those requirements does not guarantee inclusion. Google's guidance for AI search.
Our managed services team handles the research, content development and technical improvements needed to put that work into practice. As a campaign introduces proposals or changes its positions, the information on its website needs to keep pace.
Beyond the campaign's own site
We also work on visibility beyond the campaign's own website. AI answers may draw on news coverage, public records and other publications. Our Citation Marketplace helps identify and secure publication opportunities on outside sites. Work in this area can include paid placements, as described in the Reuters report.
For Marketplace work, clients approve all content and placements. Paid publication and independently reported news are different types of exposure. A placement does not, by itself, establish that an AI assistant will find the page, cite it or recommend the candidate.
What we measure
That is why we monitor AI answers over time. We track visibility and citations, and review how the answers describe the campaign's record and positions. An accuracy review compares an answer with supporting records: Does it describe the current proposal? Does it preserve important qualifications? Does it confuse a promise with an accomplishment?
An answer can be factually accurate and still be critical of a candidate. Favorability is a separate question. Appearing in an answer, receiving a citation and being recommended are also different outcomes, and a change in one does not establish a change in the others.
These observations help determine what needs attention next, whether that is an outdated page, an unsupported claim or a question the available material does not answer.
Political GEO gives campaigns a way to examine and improve the information available about them when voters consult AI. Our role is to help make that information accessible and supported by records, then assess how it appears in the answers people receive.
